To my right; Aby and Aly. In back of us: Luis, Abraham, Eduardo, Elena, Areli, and Ariel.
JTG was founded by Santiago Jaquez: former Hampton University student and player, Virginia State Junior Champion, top ten in the Middle Atlantic Tennis Association, and developer of competent tennis players of all ages. Santiago’s effective teaching method combines a balance between showing and telling with elegance and sublime tennis style acquired heuristically through observation, assimilation, participation, and professional training of the game as a ball-boy and protégé of the aristocratic society
of the Santo Domingo Tennis Club, where the former attaché for
the USA Embassy in the Dominican Republic and his legal guardian in Arlington, Virginia, USMC Colonel Randlett Towns Lawrence played.
Because of the Colonel, Santiago became a member of the Pentagon Officers' Athletic Center Open Mess, Fort Myer Officers' Athletic Club, Arlington Tennis and Squash Club, and Army Navy Country Club.
Coincidentally, after Santiago returned to the DR in the 80s, he became the head tennis pro of the Santo Domingo Tennis Club, helping the adult tennis team win three consecutive years the International Marlboro Cup; few of his junior tennis players went up to play Davis Cup for the nation, obtained tennis scholarships in universities, and played the pro circuit. Moreover, they worked for Nick Bollettieri in Miami, Florida, completing their dialectic process: students, players, and coaches=thesis, antithesis, and synthesis.
JTG believes in "Give to every man more in use value than what you take from him in cash value..." -- Wallace Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich
Santiago Jaquez’s instructional approach applies formative and summative assessment in Santo Domingo and San Diego. In both accounts, the results have been outstanding; scanning his students’ games, evaluating their learning through practice and competition, and providing feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
An experienced coach will work with you to develop your skills and take your game to the next level.
